Day 26 of 100 Days of Painting
This painting is such an embodiment of part of our trip to the Bahamas this winter. The conch shells were everywhere, and so were the hermit crabs! They are such a funny and unique little creature. They are also one of the favorites of a special little body who we got to spend our days with.
We all protect ourselves in life to some degree, but isn't it neat that God uses the hermit crab to show us that we can choose what we protect ourselves with!? They will sometimes use a bottle cap or broken glass, plastic, an ugly thing, or they will use a beautiful shell, giving new life to something passed. We can do the same, we can protect our soul with ugly things like fear, shame and control, or we can protect ourselves and and others, bringing new life, with love, mercy and kindness.
What shell do you choose?
The prompt for today is "shells."
